Madcap England is a story that started in 2007 with the aim of bringing affordable 1960s and 1970s inspired garments to the contemporary era. Retro and Mod influences punctuated with nostalgia and finished with a modern Indie edge.
... and so from a simple Mod Racing Jumper (that still exists within the range today) the Madcap England Collection has grown to incorporate a varied portfolio of designs that encapsulate a range of genre defining fashions. From casual Retro knitwear to Tailored Mod suiting and Vintage Seventies flared trousers, the diverse range of clothing brings together unique ideas, our own fabrics and a love of Retro culture.
Madcap England is named after Syd Barrett's seminal solo album 'The Madcap Laughs'.
